Your plugin should now be addable from the normal Add > Channel list. I picked Synth special mostly arbitrarily. To appease it, I just made sure Plugin database > Generators > Synth special was expanded. You may need to follow some instructions with opening folders in the browser. Pick Add to plugin database (flag as favorite). Then use FL Studio as normal - load projects, edit instruments and melodies etc.

Click the FL Studio icon button (as shown above) to access the FL Studio interface. Open your plugin's interface (click on it in the channel list) and click the drop-down in the top left corner. To open the FL Studio VST see the manual that comes with your host DAW. Make sure it creates an instance of your new plugin and not a sampler. Mine was in the New folder.ĭrag your plugin into the channel list to make a new one. Look for your plugin in Installed > Generators. In the browser on the left (the left pane that's usually open while editing unless you hide it), choose the plug icon (plugin database) from the three categories at the top. You might need to do Options > File Settings > Refresh plugin list. If you're trying to fix your VST plugin showing as an effect instead of a synth (generator) in FL Studio 12, these instructions are for you.
